50 Shades of Ice Cream

Cropped Tee - Topshop
White Denim Levi's® Shorts - ASOS Marketplace
Ice Cream Shades - Primark

What an absolutely perfect day for some tongue tingling delights!  Not sure about you, but my absolute favourite Ice Cream brand is Ben & Jerry's!  Cookie Dough and The Vermonster are all I ever buy and I really should try some of the new flavours and be a little more adventurous with my taste buds.

I hear that the new Ben & Jerry's Peanut Butter Me Up is to die for so I will definitely be giving that a go after I've devoured these two tubs!

So, for those who have also made a recent shopping trip to Primark, you will have seen a range of their summer shades including these ice cream cone ones.  Aren't they awesome????  They had milkshake ones, flamingo ones etc etc.

I'm generally ice cream crazy and will buy almost anything that has ice cream prints on it!  You may have seen my Ice Cream Sundae Blog Post earlier this year........ yup.... ice cream print! :-)

Aaaaah, I just love summer where everyone can be adventurous in a number of gorgeous prints, not to mention shades that may make one look like a dork (i.e. me) but I don't care, I love them and they're soooooo much fun!

Enjoy the YouTube video guys...... give it some time to get going though

Mickey Mouse Toontown Madness

Mickey Mouse Cropped Tee - Primark
Denim Shorts - Topshop
Black Suede Jeffrey Campbell Litas - Office
Hat - Zara

Oh yeah baby!  Spring has sprung!

It has been such a gorgeous day down South today which meant I could take my pins out for a little walk and some fresh air!

Working from home rocks especially when the weather is great so that you're not cooped up in an office with artificial lighting and an air conditioning system that just blocks up your nose!

So, it was my birthday on Saturday and my lovely mum bought this little tee for me!  I love it so!

I don't know any adults that don't love Mickey Mouse!

Hey!  Talking of cartoon characters, there certainly are a number of cartoon characters gracing apparel on the high street at the moment which is just great for summer as it adds an element of fun to those gorgeous sunny days!  You just gotta love this wee little mouse!

Its great to see Mickey Mouse fashion finds out in the market as it shows how this Disney character continues to influence mainstream culture through an array of clothing, fashion accessories, trainers and catwalk couture.

Biya Hair Extensions

Crop Top - Topshop
Heels - Primark
So, I am really excited to be trying out hair extensions for the very first time!  I bought these Biya ones of eBay and I am very pleased with them!  Having highlighted hair it was somewhat of a challenge buying the right colour!  Saying that, the seller on eBay was exceptionally helpful with colour matching.  I just have to get used to putting them in properly so that they sit and stay comfy.  To check out the seller's hair extensions click here

I just can't wait to have long hair again and have been growing my hair since January with a little help from FAST which I blogged about last week here.  It works like a charm and since using it, I can confirm that within a space of 3 months, I've seen vast growth!

At least now that I have these extensions, I can be a little more patient with my hair and for any of you that are growing your hair, you know it is a painful wait as no matter how fast it grows, it can never grow fast enough!

P.s.  Sorry for the blurry pictures, I am still getting to grips with this new camera.

Ha!

Ice Cream Sundae

Pastel Blue Jamie Jeans - Topshop
Pink Sultry Heels - Topshop

Still no sign of Spring!  Aaaargh!!! I can't believe it!

I so love these cheerful prints and this ice-cream print blouse from ASOS is one of the cutest prints I have ever seen!  They go beautifully with these pastel denims from Topshop!  All that is missing is a suntan!  I am the milkiest bar by far so can't wait to hit the beach!

There is an influx of items in my wardrobe that I am dying to wear when the weather gets better!  So many wonderful pieces that have yet to be worn and still possess all of their tags.

I popped in to Zara yesterday to take a look at their summer gear and there were so many pretty things in their TRF section that I could certainly see myself wearing over the summer but had to stop myself because I have so many clothes that have never been worn as it is.  It was so hard to be good, but please that I refrained from making any naughty purchases.

I did however spoil myself to a few bits off eBay from both Topshop (Carey Jeans) and Sinstar (Double C baggy sweat) so when they arrive I will be sure to feature them in my blog posts!

Its so hard not to spend when all the stores have such beautiful colours flitting here, there and everywhere for Spring / Summer!

Blog Off

Over Knee Socks - Topshop
Ankle Boots - Topshop
Hat - Zara

I originally saw this tee on 'The Pulse of Fashion' Blog and fell in love with it and thought it to be so apt!

This weather has been driving me crazy so I've had days of late where I've been working from home with the heating on all day and really just dressing VERY down in comfy clothing and this tee takes the cake when it comes to comfort given how slouchy and warm it is.

I do however need to get my a** in to gear and get out of the baggies and do some cool new posts for y'all!

Anyhow, I am off to watch the final instalment of Twilight which arrived from Amazon today and to commit carbicide with a pot of Ben & Jerry's Cookie Dough!  Mmmmmmm......Moorish

Luv you all!

Mwah!  Mwah!

A Floral Frenzy - Part 1

Poppy Bralet - Topshop
Shorts - Topshop Vintage
Heels - New Look
Hat - Primark

Flowers have been a huge pattern trend since the 60's (Flower Power oh yeah) and I love nothing more than these girly prints!

Botanical designs are so sweet, romantic, and effortless and when paired with bright denim, you can easily create a look that is classic, casual, or chic.

I have always been in love with all things shabby chic and embracing the shabby chic aesthetic as far as fashion goes, it just screams vintage femininity!

There is something very special about attire that resembles old-fashioned play and values.

Of course the more traditional shabby chic way of dressing is of course the layering of fabrics with colours that are of a pastel nature which also include ruffles, ribbons, crocheted garments, cameos etc!

Ah, I just love it!!

So, with floral prints blooming this Spring, it is certainly timely with Mother's Day on the approach as it's not just a reminder of the beauty of flowers, but of mothers around the world too!

I will be taking my very lovely Mum to Cliveden House for Afternoon Tea to celebrate Mother's Day so I shall post some photos in order to share with you the grandeur and splendour of this grand estate!

I hope you all have something lovely and special planned for your mums this Mother's Day!

Holographic Heaven

Holographic Jeans - H&M
Cat Tee - Topshop
Pink Sultry Heels - Topshop
Holographic Handbag - H&M

Oh my goodness!
So, I spotted these iridescent babies on the fabulous blog, ‘Style & Expect’ by Joana and when I checked the date of her blog post, I was gutted as I thought  that there was no way that these would still be in store, or so I thought!
I spent a good half hour on the web trying to see if I could find them on H&M’s website and on eBay too (worldwide) but I hadn’t any luck!  I was so so so disappointed!
Then……
I popped out at lunch time today and went to one of the small H&M’s along the high street in Reading and there they were.  Fluttering their eyelashes at me.
It was one of those moments where I literally shouted woo-hoo out loud which resulted in about 6 furry eyeballs looking at me up and down as if I were some looney tune that had just escaped from the fashion zoo!
Yup, slightly embarrassing which resulted in visions of me throwing eggs at them.
Anyway, back to the post!
I was soon overcome with fear as I prayed they had my size in stock!  I was beside myself!
Lucky for me the 27 fitted perfectly..... I will spare you the detail of the size 25!  LOL!
Hey, is there anyone out there that knows of anyone who hates this trend?  I haven’t.
I mean how could you?
This trend may not necessarily be sustainable in terms of the four seasons or the ever changing trends from runway to real-life but having a holographic piece of clothing or a holographic accessory is a must for any micro trend lover!
I know that some may find this trend difficult to style but with some good ol’ neutral pieces paired with your shimmy will make you look luminous….. Literally!  You may even get some ‘take me to your leader’ remarks which isn’t such a bad thing as you’ll know you’ve been successful in making yourself look fabulously fierce and futuristic (yup that’s an alliteration)!
If however you are the elite in the upper crust of fashion society and would be happy to spend astronomical amounts of your dosh on the extraordinary holographic pieces by Hussein Chalayan, Manish Arora, Ksubi or Blumarine, then you’d probably look hot going all out from head to toe in iridescents!  Obviously!
Not sure about y'all but I've certainly got a case of the shimmy shimmy shakes!

Mom Jean Madness

Floral Denim Bralet - Topshop
Taupe Jeffrey Campbell Litas - Office Shoes

Does my bum look big in this?

Ha!

The come back of the 'Mom Jean' for S/S 2013 means I have been on the look-out for all of the ladies who are styling these babies right without being too sensitive about how pert or perky their posteriors look in them!

(Aaargh, now I have this song in my head)!!!

I am sure almost all ladies have a love / hate relationship with the 'Mom Jean' trend and there is no doubt in my mind that - that is purely down to how unflattering they can be and how they can also make you look as though you've gained a few pounds!

 Bum deal or what!!??

Saying that, as much as I hate how peachy these mom jeans make my derriere look, I can't help but love them for how perfect they are for pairing with the many crop tops I possess that are just dying for summer so that they can be worn.

I even spent a good few hours over the weekend just gone sipping skinny lattes with my entourage at Starbucks (which happens to be diagonal to Topshop) at one of my local shopping malls to see if I could spot any lovelies sporting the trend!

Of some of the girls I spoke to, it was so great to see how many of these frugalista fashionista's were in fact sporting jeans they'd reworked themselves that actually belonged to their own mothers and damn did they look totally awesome!

I particularly noticed how the very tall super skinny (size 4) girls were wearing their mom jeans with sporty separates and flats whilst the not so tall girls were wearing their mom jeans with killer heels which in my mind is due to the fact that by elongating your body means that it ultimately eliminates the dreaded 'long butt' syndrome.

Yup, these bad boys AKA 'Mom Jeans' are notorious for giving women 'long-butt' syndrome and that really is quite simply down to the positioning of the pockets in relation to how high the waist sits in the actual cut of the jean which isn't such a bad thing if you're of supermodel height however if you're in the mid to lower part of the 5ft family, then they could make you look disproportionate if you don't style them correctly.

Therefore.......my theory of rear-lativity (ha see what I did there) is to ensure that no matter whether you love or hate this trend, mom jeans can be rocked so rock them with pride!

Miss Mini Pini

Shirt - Zara
Hat - Zara
Knee High Socks - Topshop
Jeffrey Campbell Black Suede Litas - Office Shoes
Ray Ban Wayfarer - David Clulow

I have just noticed how many of my Topshop items end up on my blog and this really is down to the fact that Topshop is my absolute FAVOURITE high street store and I can't help myself when I see one.  I just gotta go in!  It's as though there are these magnetic powers that draw me in!  Honest!

Ok...... so........ the reworked Pinafore!

"DRUM ROLL PLEASE"

Yup, these are hot at the moment and no doubt come Spring they're going to get even hotter!  We'll see colours, patterns and fabrics that are fun, frivolous, frolicsome, youthful and quirky.  Just what summer should be all about!

The Pinafore screams femininity!

They're effortless and timeless and what makes the pinafore extra special is the sheer elegance in its simplicity.

Admittedly, the pinafore is great for us girls who are no longer in high school or our teenage years as it allows us the opportunity to indulge yet again in retro chic school girl chic-ness!  Oh yeah!

So if  you're like me and wanna get back in touch with your inner school girl, 'tis the season to be fearless and fabulous!

Ah oui!!

Superbowl Shuffle

The inspiration for this outfit came from a post I read online on the very cool 'Who What Where' website.  Their post 'Superbowl Fashion Essentials' is what made me buy this tee upon seeing it at Topshop in Oxford Street, London.

Whilst Superbowl Sunday doesn't mean all that much in the UK compared to the US, I couldn't resist joining the Superbowl party after having purchased this tee and whilst Superbowl Sunday seems like ages ago now, I still wanted to put this up on my blog just for a little fun.

As you can see, I even went so far as to add 'eye black' to my face to get into character!
The only thing I wish I had was a proper game ball oh and some football boots!

Hey, did  you know that the eye black that American Footballers wear is used to reduce glare from any flood lights or sunshine?  Ha!  I didn't.  I thought it was more for dramatic purposes i.e war paint before the official gridiron battle on the playing field!

Anyhoooooooo.....

Unlike the American Footballers, there was no way I would be putting grease on my face, so all I had at home to compensate was M.A.C's Black Knight Limited Edition lipstick from their 2009 Style Black Collection.  It worked a treat (at least I thought so anyway).  I went for two black stripes rather than one big black block of colour just to mix things up a little, it looked less aggressive that way!  Tee hee!

Comfortable attire was certainly the order of the day on an occasion such a this.

What's your playing field?

Skirt Alert

Mesh Crop Vest - Topshop
Over Knee Socks - Topshop

I stumbled upon the gleaming splendour of this skirt in the video for the Missguided Blogger A/W Lookbook Shoot last year and that meant I just had to have one!
I honestly haven’t had the right occasion to wear this skirt as yet and given I have 3 wardrobes full of absolutely everything to wear (but nothing to wear at the same time) the moment just hasn’t arisen as yet to reveal it so I thought I would give it some of my lovin’ for this blog post because I also wanted to show off my new mesh crop vest.
Sometimes I wonder whether it’s just me that has an inability to decide what to wear when standing in front of hangers upon hangers and shelves upon shelves in my wardrobes in both my bedroom and my dressing room because there is just too much to choose from (shopaholic) or whether I am just a shopaholic who likes to buy insane amounts of clothing and shoes just for the sake of it (lunatic)!
Possibly the latter?  LOL
So, yes, more on the skirt!  Missguided have this metallic skirt in a range of colours from the blue you see in this post, purple, there is also gold, black, lime and lilac.  The metallic is great for disco divas out there.  I have seen these skirts on some girls around town on some Friday and Saturday nights and they really do make for great evening apparel because of the metallic magic & sparkles that this skirt exudes.

Bear in mind however that you don’t need to save your shiny fashion statements until after dark because the hottest metallic trends can be worn all times of the day and the good news is that the metallic trend is also going to see us through to spring / summer so I will have many opportunities still to wear this without freezing my BEEP off
So keep calm and shine on!
