50 Shades of Ice Cream

Cropped Tee - Topshop
White Denim Levi's® Shorts - ASOS Marketplace
Ice Cream Shades - Primark

What an absolutely perfect day for some tongue tingling delights!  Not sure about you, but my absolute favourite Ice Cream brand is Ben & Jerry's!  Cookie Dough and The Vermonster are all I ever buy and I really should try some of the new flavours and be a little more adventurous with my taste buds.

I hear that the new Ben & Jerry's Peanut Butter Me Up is to die for so I will definitely be giving that a go after I've devoured these two tubs!

So, for those who have also made a recent shopping trip to Primark, you will have seen a range of their summer shades including these ice cream cone ones.  Aren't they awesome????  They had milkshake ones, flamingo ones etc etc.

I'm generally ice cream crazy and will buy almost anything that has ice cream prints on it!  You may have seen my Ice Cream Sundae Blog Post earlier this year........ yup.... ice cream print! :-)

Aaaaah, I just love summer where everyone can be adventurous in a number of gorgeous prints, not to mention shades that may make one look like a dork (i.e. me) but I don't care, I love them and they're soooooo much fun!

Enjoy the YouTube video guys...... give it some time to get going though

Jeffrey Campbell - Pink Pony Hair Lita

♥ Are you in love with these yet? ♥

In March of this year, I first spotted these beauties on weheartit.com and having looked all over the place for a pair I had no luck at all in finding any retailer nationally or internationally who had these in stock as they were sold out absolutely EVERYWHERE!  I even emailed Solestruck to see whether they were to get more in stock but didn't get a reply which was surprising and disappointing and so there was one last attempt I was going to make to get a pair and that involved emailing Jeffrey Campbell Shoes directly!!!

Their 'contact us' page for the UK gives the email addresses for both Scott & David Jacobs so I emailed them with a request to see whether they would be able to source a pair for me and I have to say, they were just so helpful and just totally terrific and ever so swift with replying!

I had the pleasure thereafter of dealing with their colleague Martin who took me through the whole process of sourcing, purchasing and shipping the item.  Martin is an absolute gem and such a super star as he ordered them in March for me and they arrived this week Tuesday!  Getting them and opening that box was just like Christmas morning!

The customer experience was exceptional and faultless.

This Pony hair lace up boot has the standard hidden platform with a leather covered heel instead of the usual wooden block heel which gives it that extra special touch.

They really are so very pretty and very girly and I've been to scared to wear them as I so don't want to get any scuffs or get them dirty!  They're just too precious!

This is my 4th pair of Litas and I have to say that these are my favourite pair and it's because they are pink!!!!

A great big thank you to Scott, David and Martin for helping me in finding a pair of these gorgeous Litas!

You guys 'ROCK' :-)

Mom Jean Madness

Floral Denim Bralet - Topshop
Taupe Jeffrey Campbell Litas - Office Shoes

Does my bum look big in this?

Ha!

The come back of the 'Mom Jean' for S/S 2013 means I have been on the look-out for all of the ladies who are styling these babies right without being too sensitive about how pert or perky their posteriors look in them!

(Aaargh, now I have this song in my head)!!!

I am sure almost all ladies have a love / hate relationship with the 'Mom Jean' trend and there is no doubt in my mind that - that is purely down to how unflattering they can be and how they can also make you look as though you've gained a few pounds!

 Bum deal or what!!??

Saying that, as much as I hate how peachy these mom jeans make my derriere look, I can't help but love them for how perfect they are for pairing with the many crop tops I possess that are just dying for summer so that they can be worn.

I even spent a good few hours over the weekend just gone sipping skinny lattes with my entourage at Starbucks (which happens to be diagonal to Topshop) at one of my local shopping malls to see if I could spot any lovelies sporting the trend!

Of some of the girls I spoke to, it was so great to see how many of these frugalista fashionista's were in fact sporting jeans they'd reworked themselves that actually belonged to their own mothers and damn did they look totally awesome!

I particularly noticed how the very tall super skinny (size 4) girls were wearing their mom jeans with sporty separates and flats whilst the not so tall girls were wearing their mom jeans with killer heels which in my mind is due to the fact that by elongating your body means that it ultimately eliminates the dreaded 'long butt' syndrome.

Yup, these bad boys AKA 'Mom Jeans' are notorious for giving women 'long-butt' syndrome and that really is quite simply down to the positioning of the pockets in relation to how high the waist sits in the actual cut of the jean which isn't such a bad thing if you're of supermodel height however if you're in the mid to lower part of the 5ft family, then they could make you look disproportionate if you don't style them correctly.

Therefore.......my theory of rear-lativity (ha see what I did there) is to ensure that no matter whether you love or hate this trend, mom jeans can be rocked so rock them with pride!

Miss Mini Pini

Shirt - Zara
Hat - Zara
Knee High Socks - Topshop
Jeffrey Campbell Black Suede Litas - Office Shoes
Ray Ban Wayfarer - David Clulow

I have just noticed how many of my Topshop items end up on my blog and this really is down to the fact that Topshop is my absolute FAVOURITE high street store and I can't help myself when I see one.  I just gotta go in!  It's as though there are these magnetic powers that draw me in!  Honest!

Ok...... so........ the reworked Pinafore!

"DRUM ROLL PLEASE"

Yup, these are hot at the moment and no doubt come Spring they're going to get even hotter!  We'll see colours, patterns and fabrics that are fun, frivolous, frolicsome, youthful and quirky.  Just what summer should be all about!

The Pinafore screams femininity!

They're effortless and timeless and what makes the pinafore extra special is the sheer elegance in its simplicity.

Admittedly, the pinafore is great for us girls who are no longer in high school or our teenage years as it allows us the opportunity to indulge yet again in retro chic school girl chic-ness!  Oh yeah!

So if  you're like me and wanna get back in touch with your inner school girl, 'tis the season to be fearless and fabulous!

Ah oui!!

Denimology

Vintage Levi's® 501 Denim Shorts - ASOS Marketplace
Skull Cut Out Vest - Zara
Beige Knitted Over Knee Socks - Next
Pearl Beaded Rosary - Republic
Gold Tone Cross Necklace - Topshop

Levi Strauss & Co. created their first pair of Levi's® 501 Jeans in the 1890s, a style that went on to become the world's best selling item of clothing!
The Levi's® brand continue their mission for world domination by constantly innovating their covetable designs and their denim and the absolute eternal appeal of this brand icon meant that my unwavering love for all things vintage is what set me upon my conquest to find the perfect pair of vintage Levi's® 501 cut offs.
Now then, having discovered through much revision and homework on vintage apparel and the sizing of vintage apparel, it is true that vintage sizes often come up smaller than the corresponding contemporary size which meant that one’s booty (yes mine) went from a 26 inch waist to a 29 inch waist over night!  I shall not repeat the word I used to express my exclamation of disapproval!
Oh yes, it’s true!
So anyway, when they arrived, they fitted beautifully, were high-waisted and complemented one’s seat very well which is also another reason for me loving this icon of denim-wear.
Levi's® is the very epitome of the American dream, from Cowboys to hip city dwellers!
Yee Haw!!!

For Queen and Country

In 2013 we see The Queen celebrate the sixtieth anniversary of her Coronation so I thought it would be fitting to do a blog post to honour yet another royal momentous occasion.
After all, I am not the only one to pay homage to Her Majesty The Queen who in her own right is an improbable style icon.
Yup, you heard right!  A style icon!
Not only have we see some of the contemporary British Designers and Fashion Houses such as Dame Vivienne Westwood, Alexander McQueen (I miss him), Jonathan Saunders, Christopher Kane and Stella McCartney to name a few pledge their allegiance to Britannia in some way or another with their edgy collections, we too are blessed with some of the most extraordinary fashion cities in the world here in the United Kingdom and whilst Queen Elizabeth II may not particularly be interested in fashion to the extent that us Fashion Bloggers are, we are certainly assured that fashion is interested in The Queen.
For example.....
Dolce & Gabbana in 2008 used Her Majesty The Queen as inspiration for their diffusion collection at Milan Fashion Week and with Agyness Deyn naming the Queen as her fashion inspiration is a further testament to Royalty understanding the real power of fashion.
Also, if like me you are an avid British Vogue reader and devotee, you will remember Her Majesty being in the Best Dressed of 2007 list and further to that, she was also listed in Vogue magazine a few years ago alongside supermodels Kate Moss, Claudia Schiffer and Naomi Campbell as one of the 50 most glamorous women in the world.
Eureka??!!!  Aha!
Oh and get this, Her Majesty has a paged dedicated to her fashion on the official website of The Royals.  You can check it out here:
Absolutely top hole!
I end this post in thanking you Ma’am for the fashion it is you have inspired in us throughout your reign and whilst this lovely jumper shows a little more flesh than you may be used to seeing, it is with my best intention that I fly the flag in this manner.
Cue curtsy.

Skirt Alert

Mesh Crop Vest - Topshop
Over Knee Socks - Topshop

I stumbled upon the gleaming splendour of this skirt in the video for the Missguided Blogger A/W Lookbook Shoot last year and that meant I just had to have one!
I honestly haven’t had the right occasion to wear this skirt as yet and given I have 3 wardrobes full of absolutely everything to wear (but nothing to wear at the same time) the moment just hasn’t arisen as yet to reveal it so I thought I would give it some of my lovin’ for this blog post because I also wanted to show off my new mesh crop vest.
Sometimes I wonder whether it’s just me that has an inability to decide what to wear when standing in front of hangers upon hangers and shelves upon shelves in my wardrobes in both my bedroom and my dressing room because there is just too much to choose from (shopaholic) or whether I am just a shopaholic who likes to buy insane amounts of clothing and shoes just for the sake of it (lunatic)!
Possibly the latter?  LOL
So, yes, more on the skirt!  Missguided have this metallic skirt in a range of colours from the blue you see in this post, purple, there is also gold, black, lime and lilac.  The metallic is great for disco divas out there.  I have seen these skirts on some girls around town on some Friday and Saturday nights and they really do make for great evening apparel because of the metallic magic & sparkles that this skirt exudes.

Bear in mind however that you don’t need to save your shiny fashion statements until after dark because the hottest metallic trends can be worn all times of the day and the good news is that the metallic trend is also going to see us through to spring / summer so I will have many opportunities still to wear this without freezing my BEEP off
So keep calm and shine on!

Monochromatic

So, the winter monochrome style is going to continue to see us through to Spring which is just as well as I wouldn’t be wearing this LA Tee outside in today’s weather conditions due to the fear of rigamortis setting in from the cold!
This trend for me has always been super chic and sophisticated and it is a trend that absolutely anyone can wear and you can be as wild or as tame as you like!
For those who love the 60’s and the ever classic looking gamine like Audrey Hepburn or the staple look of style icons / sex symbols like Brigitte Bardot (I love her), then monochromatic is certainly for you!
Winged eyeliner, bold red lips and beautiful flowing waves of hair paired with monochrome is sure to create some sort of delicious dizziness for on-lookers, especially if you choose to go all out with your graphic prints through to great big chunks of colorblock.
Monochrome is also super slimming which is what makes me love it even more as to maintain a size 8 figure is hard work so monochrome is certainly great for the spring just until your summer body has recovered from a long winter of wanting to eat stodge and just hibernate.
So ladies, get some Brigitte Bardot music going and get your monochrome on.
À bientôt

Ground control to Major Tom

Black Lace Peplum Shirt - River Island

I first heard of James Lillis a year or so ago and how Black Milk Clothing originated which was such a inspiring story of not giving up in something you have a real passion for, something you believe in and for believing in yourself.
I came to know of James Lillis through the power of blogging and I am so glad I did as I take so much pride in wearing his creations, especially the galaxy prints which are literally ‘out of this world’.
If you’ve seen James Lillis in action, you will see why the fabrics, designs and collections at Black Milk are as epic as he is.  If however you haven’t seen James in action, take a look at his Podcasts on YouTube!  They’re a blast and his plush sharkies are just soooo cute (oh and if you are not familiar with James’ speak in terms of ‘Sharkies’ what he means by that is his ‘cult following’).
The Australian Online Fashion Label in 2013 will see a range of new products and some limited runs of prints which I can’t wait to see and of which I will be following closely and for you ladies out there with LTW’s, be sure to stay tuned for James’ swimsuits!
These leggings are lavish and are so comfortable and feel like body butter on the skin!  If you haven’t already got a pair, they are well worth the investment as not only do they scream ‘Queen of Cool’ but they are bound to get you a lot of attention from passes by and I have discovered you can wear these as Street Style as you want, or can also dress them up to look a little more formal with the right pieces in your wardrobe!
On to the shoes!  So, the reason I chose to pair my Black Milk Purple Galaxy Print Leggings with my back suede Jeffrey Campbell Litas is because not only are they a match made in heaven but Black Milk have collaborated with the LA based shoe designer to create some limited edition collections which were originally being sold exclusively on Solestruck.com.
Ménage à trois did you say? :-)
For cool girls EVERYWHERE!
